The Medford Historical Commission and Medford Historic District Commission (two separate municipal boards) are working together to create several new local historic districts in our community. This page is dedicated to disseminating documentation for the general public to review in advance of public meetings. We encourage visitors to share the information with your neighbors and help us spread the word. No matter what your opinion on the matter, you have a voice and we want your questions, comments, and concerns.

Forest Street Historic District
Forest Street is one of Medford’s best preserved central arteries. Leading from the Square north toward Roosevelt Circle, the street is home to four centuries of architecture. The social history of these buildings capture the rich and layered history of our broader community. The study report created for the local historic district is enclosed. Information about a public hearing shall follow.
Haskell-Cutter House Historic District
Currently under demolition delay, the Haskell Cutter House is one of three extant Federal-era Cape Cod style houses in Medford. The threat of loss prompted the Historical Commission to work with the District Commission and establish a local historic district to prevent the erosion of our shipbuilding neighborhood located in East Medford.
